Delete your collecto.rs account

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in collecto.rs, the collection-tracking app for iPhone, Android and the web, made by collecto.rs. You can delete your account yourself at any time, or ask us to delete it for you.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open the collecto.rs app and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile picture to open your account menu, then tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to Danger Zone and tap Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE and confirm.

Delete your account on the web

  1. Sign in at collecto.rs.
  2. Open Settings from your account menu (your profile picture at the top of the page). On a computer, Settings is also at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  3. In Danger Zone, choose Delete Account.
  4. Type DELETE and confirm.

Ask us to delete it

If you can't sign in, or would rather we do it for you, email support@collecto.rs with the subject "Delete my account". If you can, send it from the email address you sign in with and include your username. We may ask you to confirm the request before we delete anything, and we'll reply by email once your account has been deleted.

What we delete

Deleting your account is permanent. It can't be undone, and we can't restore your account or anything in it afterwards. When you confirm, we delete these from our database:

  • Your profile: your name, email address, username, bio, links and profile photo.
  • Your sign-in details, including any Google, Apple or Facebook sign-in connected to collecto.rs. You're signed out on every device.
  • Your collections and every item in them, with their details, photos and videos.
  • Your wishlist, posts, comments, likes, follows, notes and notifications.
  • Your chats with Pi, the collecto.rs assistant.
  • The record of how you first arrived at collecto.rs: the page you landed on, the website that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link.

We also erase the files that go with your account from our file storage: your items' photos and videos, the photos and videos in your posts and comments, your profile photo (the original you uploaded and every smaller copy we made of it), photos you shared with Pi or in a transfer thank-you, and your items' link-preview images, which show the item's photo and your username when someone shares a link to it. And we ask our email provider to unsubscribe your email address from our newsletter. If a newsletter still reaches you after that, the unsubscribe link in it takes you off the list.

How long it takes

When you delete your account in the app or on the web, it happens as soon as you confirm: your account and everything listed above are removed from our database straight away. The files listed above are then erased from our file storage in the background, usually within a few minutes, and we check again 15 minutes later for any file that was still being made when you deleted your account. If you email us, we'll do all of this once we've confirmed the request, and let you know by email when it's done.

What we may keep

  • Copies in our database backups. Backups are replaced on a rolling seven-day cycle, so deleted information is gone from them within about a week.
  • Cached copies of public images. Your profile photo and your items' link-preview images are served through a content delivery network, which can keep showing a cached copy at the same web address for up to a year after we erase the original. Apps and sites that already fetched one of your link previews, such as iMessage, Slack or social networks, keep their own copies, which we can't erase.
  • Things that now belong to other collectors. An item you gave or transferred to someone stays in their collection, and a gift you reserved from someone's wishlist stays reserved, but neither is linked to you any more.
  • Records that include your email address but aren't part of your account, such as invitations other collectors sent you, a club or organiser claim you made, an event vendor listing an organiser added for you, or a request not to be sent invitations. None of these are linked to your account any more.
  • A record that your email address unsubscribed from our newsletter. Our email provider keeps the address, and your name if you gave one, marked as unsubscribed so it never emails you again.
  • Feedback and bug reports you sent us, including the name, email address and username you sent them with.
  • Usage statistics, such as feed views and clicks on marketplace links, which we keep without your name or email address.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you'd like to know exactly what we kept after your account was deleted, email support@collecto.rs and we'll confirm by email.
