Astronomy Night! The Moon among Roses
Let’s gather among the roses and delight in our moon with the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers. They will bring their telescopes up to the Garden of Old Roses to share views of the Moon and highlight some of its most interesting features. Majestic Saturn with its enigmatic rings will also be visible, rising over the eastern Berkeley hills. Sunset will be at 5:00PM with glorious views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge.
Don’t miss this first-ever star-gazing night at the Garden!
The San Francisco Amateur Astronomers have been sharing the wonders of the universe since 1952. More information about SFAA is available here .
Please Note: This program features telescopes situated at our Garden of Old Roses, the highest point of the Garden, which involves walking along a paved pathway that takes approximately 20-25 minutes from the Entrance Gate. (There are several bench rest points along the way if needed.) Restrooms are only located at the Entrance, not in the Garden of Old Roses. Please reach out to gardenprograms@berkeley.edu for accessibility inquiries.
Ticket includes same-day admission to the Garden during open hours to explore. After 5:00PM, all areas of the Garden will be closed, with the exception of the program in the Garden of Old Roses. (No wandering please.)
