It's a neighborhood where anything is possible, where anyone can do seemingly anything; a place where you can lay bare your body and soul. In this neighborhood of Akiba, which has everything including anime, games, maids, idols, secondhand parts, and cheap food, battles are fought against the "Bagurimono," and a steadfast "boy meets girl" story begins!

Where it came from
Akiba's Trip the Animation was produced by Studio GONZO and released in 2017 as an adaptation of the popular Akiba's Trip video game series. The series was developed as a comedic, action-oriented tribute to Tokyo's Akihabara district, capturing the specific subculture of otaku life while integrating a supernatural premise involving 'synthisters' who feed on the life energy of the area's residents.
The production sought to balance the frenetic energy of the source material's combat mechanics with a satirical look at the transformation of Akihabara over the years. Directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, the series features distinctive character designs by Hajime Mitsuda. While the show received mixed reviews for its departure from the game's core gameplay loop, it is often noted for its self-referential humor and its detailed, affectionate depiction of the real-world locations that define the district.
