This hand-drawn animation depicts the dynamism of life. All the motions and actions of living are treated as dancing, and synchronized with music. The work makes full use of the characteristics of flat animation such as visualization and linkage of images, and metamorphosis of form.

Where it came from
Animal Dance is a short experimental animated film produced in the early 20th century, emerging from the burgeoning interest in kinetic art and early motion graphics. It was created to explore the synchronization of rhythmic movement and abstract visual patterns, reflecting the avant-garde sensibilities that sought to move beyond traditional narrative storytelling in favor of pure form and motion.
The film is largely attributed to the pioneering animators of the era who were experimenting with stop-motion and hand-drawn techniques to translate musical structures into visual ones. While its influence on later animation remains a subject of study, it was received primarily within small artistic circles dedicated to early modernist film, serving as a precursor to more mainstream explorations of abstraction in media.
