Animegataris: Yuku Toshi, Kuru Toshi

Animegataris: Yuku Toshi, Kuru Toshi is a special ONA episode released in late 2017 to bridge the conclusion of the Animegataris television series. Produced by WAO World, the short film continues the story of the Asagaya Anime Club, maintaining the series' self-aware humor and its meta-commentary on the culture of fandom. It was created as an epilogue to reward the audience with additional time spent with the lead characters, Minoa and Arisu, as they navigate their high school club life.

The production maintains the lighthearted, colorful character designs synonymous with the series, focusing on the dynamic between club members as they celebrate the transition between the old year and the new. Directed by Kenshiro Morii, the episode retains the studio's signature style which balances comedic character tropes with an affectionate look at the habits of anime enthusiasts. The release was received as a gentle, fanservice-oriented conclusion that solidified the series' identity as a love letter to the medium of anime itself.
