When Bakugan began emerging from the earth's crust in a mysterious worldwide "awakening," Dan and his friends find themselves at the epicenter of a new age. Dan and Company quickly learn that they must grow into more than just suburban kids looking for quick fame in the post-Bakugan era. They must learn how to work with their Bakugan and deploy them in battle in order to survive the seemingly endless forces out to control, enslave or just plain destroy the mysterious race of alien creatures. Dan and his friends will evolve into bona fide heroes by protecting their Bakugan, the Earth and ultimately the incredible secret hidden beneath our feet: Our planet has merged with another, living planet Vestroia.

Where it came from
Bakugan: Battle Planet emerged in 2019 as a reboot of the original Bakugan franchise, which had achieved global success in the mid-2000s. Produced as a collaboration between Spin Master, Nelvana, and TMS Entertainment, this iteration sought to modernize the concept for a new generation of viewers by integrating updated animation techniques and a refined narrative structure that balanced character development with the series' core mechanical premise of collectible, transforming spheres.
The visual design and creative direction were overseen by TMS Entertainment, a studio with a long history in the anime industry, aiming to provide a more cohesive aesthetic compared to the original series. The show was developed to complement a redesigned line of physical toys that featured enhanced transformation mechanisms. While the series faced the challenge of reclaiming the attention of a changing demographic, it was received as a stable, contemporary continuation of the brand, successfully introducing the world of Dan Kouzo and the Awesome Ones to a new audience.
