Balala Xiao Moxian: Mofa Hai Ying Bao 2

Balala the Fairies: Magic Ocean Castle, known as Mofa Hai Ying Bao, is the second season of the second series in the extensive Balala the Fairies franchise produced by Alpha Animation. Launched in the mid-2010s, this installment continued the studio's strategy of combining magical girl tropes with themes of friendship and courage, specifically set within an underwater fantasy kingdom. The series was designed to target younger demographics, utilizing bright color palettes and character transformations that align with the established aesthetic identity of the brand.

The character Xiao Moxian serves as a central figure in the series, reflecting the collaborative efforts of Alpha Animation’s internal design team. By building upon the success of the original series, the studio aimed to expand its multimedia footprint through character-driven storytelling and accompanying toy lines. The series was received as a staple of contemporary Chinese children's television, successfully maintaining the franchise’s influence in the domestic market while solidifying the visual iconography associated with the various fairy characters.
