A secret organization called "Doress" has funded the development of a genetically engineered parasite code-named "BAOH." Organisms infected by BAOH become living survival machines, virtually indestructible, able to mutate their body structure to meet any threat. Properly controlled, the BAOH parasite could allow Doress to control the World.
Unfortunately, their first human guinea-pig, a young man named Hashizawa Ikuroo, has managed to escape, along with a young girl, Sumire, who has a strange precognitive gift. Unless Doress operatives can find and destroy Ikuroo before the BAOH parasite fully manifests, their evil dream will come to naught.
But BAOH, comfortably hiding in Ikuroo's brain, won't make it easy.

Where it came from
Baoh the Visitor was released in 1989 as a single-episode original video animation produced by Studio Pierrot. It serves as an adaptation of the manga series Baoh by Hirohiko Araki, the creator later renowned for his long-running JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise. The story follows a young man named Ikuro Hashizawa who becomes a biological weapon after being infected with a parasite, forcing him to fight a shadowy organization seeking to harness his new powers.
The production sought to capture the gritty, body-horror aesthetic of 1980s dark fantasy manga, utilizing a distinctive cel-animated style that emphasized the grotesque transformations central to the plot. While the manga was Araki's first major serialized work, the anime adaptation is often viewed as a stylistic precursor to the supernatural combat dynamics that would define his later career. It is regarded by enthusiasts as a cult classic of the late eighties anime boom, noted more for its historical significance in Araki's bibliography than for widespread commercial reception upon its initial release.
