Beast Tamer

Beast Tamer, known in Japan as Yusha Party o Tsuiho Sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyo Shuzoku Nekomimi Shojo to Deau, originated as a light novel series written by Suzu Miyama and illustrated by Subaichi. The narrative follows Rein Shroud, an expelled party member who finds new purpose after befriending Kanade, a girl from the legendary Cat Tribe. The series captures the popular 'isekai' and fantasy adventure tropes of its era, focusing on themes of companionship and hidden potential as the protagonist builds a diverse party of powerful, unique creatures.

The 2022 anime adaptation was produced by studio EMT Squared and directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa. The production design sought to translate Subaichi's character illustrations into a vibrant, accessible aesthetic consistent with modern adventure anime standards.
