Seven years after the Nemesis Crisis, much of the world has been devastated and ruined after the tragic fighting. As a result, most people lost faith and interest in Beyblading. Tsubasa Ootori, who became leader of the WBBA, made it his life goal to ensure humanity could restore itself, as well as restore the popularity of Beyblading. Together with the mechanic Madoka Amano, he created the Zero-G battling style as a result, and hopes a new generation of bladers will rise up to accept the sport once again. One of these is a teenager named Zero Kurogane, who aims to become the top blader after having a destined encounter with the hero of the Nemesis Crisis, Ginga Hagane.

Where it came from
Beyblade: Shogun Steel, known in Japan as Metal Fight Beyblade Zero-G, was produced by Tatsunoko Production and released in 2012 as the fourth installment in the modern Beyblade metal-themed anime series. This iteration was designed to revitalize the franchise by introducing a new protagonist, Zyro Kurogane, and shifting the focus to a more dynamic, gravity-defying combat system known as the Zero-G stadium, which featured a swinging base intended to simulate unpredictable movement.
The series was developed during a period of transition for the Beyblade property, as the creative team sought to evolve the aesthetic established in the Metal Saga while catering to a younger demographic. While the animation style retained the high-energy visual flair associated with Tatsunoko’s production house, the series faced challenges in matching the critical and commercial reception of its predecessors, ultimately serving as a bridge between the long-running Metal Fight era and the subsequent Burst generation.
