Bishoujo Mobage: Mobami-chan

Mobami-chan was created in 2014 as a collaborative promotional project between the animation studio Trigger and the mobile social game platform Mobage. The short-form ONA was designed to showcase Trigger's signature high-energy, vibrant animation style while highlighting the platform's diverse library of mobile titles. It represents a unique intersection of mid-2010s digital marketing and the studio's desire to experiment with bite-sized, stylized narratives that appealed directly to a younger, tech-savvy audience.

The character design and visual direction were helmed by Trigger's creative team, who prioritized fluid character animation and bold color palettes to distinguish the piece from standard corporate advertising. The production was intended to be a lighthearted, visually dense calling card for the studio's technical capabilities. Upon release, it was well-received within animation enthusiast circles as a quirky, aesthetic curiosum that captured the frenetic aesthetic sensibilities that would come to define many of the studio's larger subsequent projects.
