Chokin Senshi Cashman

Chokin Senshi Cashman, known in English as Money Warrior Cashman, began as a short manga series created by Akira Toriyama in 1990. Serialized in V Jump, the story follows a galactic police officer who crash-lands on Earth and must work as a hero-for-hire to earn enough money to repair his spaceship. The narrative blends Toriyama's signature humor with the inventive, mechanical aesthetic that defined much of his early nineties work.

The 1997 OVA adaptation was produced by Toei Animation as part of a special project to bring the manga to the screen. The production sought to capture the eccentric character design and fast-paced action sequences that fans associated with the creator of Dragon Ball. While it remained a niche title compared to Toriyama’s major franchises, it is remembered by collectors as a distinct stylistic bridge between his one-shot comedy works and his more expansive action series.
