The story revolves around 13-year old Meguru Tokio, who is suddenly approached by a strange woman who is running away from something. She finds out that the girl's name is also Meguru, and although she appears to be around 17 or 18 years old, she has a passionate personality, which the younger Meguru has trouble dealing with. Meguru Tokio gets drawn into the older Meguru's fight with a mysterious organization, and gets targeted by the organization as well. The one targeting them from the organization was the narcissist, Rei.
Although the younger Meguru can't believe that the older one came from the future, she fights alongside her in a dimensional robot. After fighting with Rei, she finds out that even though the other Meguru is older than her, she is Meguru Tokio's descendant. After finding out that someone has jumped into the past by the older Meguru's history surveillance device, the two also make a leap back into the past.

Where it came from
Choujikuu Robo Meguru was produced by Brain's Base and released in 2014 as a promotional original video animation, or OVA. The project was conceived as an unconventional marketing tool for the Pachinko machine manufacturer Yamasa, specifically designed to highlight their new machines at the time. By utilizing the medium of high-energy mecha anime, the studio aimed to capture the attention of a demographic that enjoys fast-paced action and classic robot tropes while simultaneously promoting the brand's gaming hardware.
The animation features character designs by the acclaimed artist Range Murata, known for his distinctively elegant and detailed aesthetic. Murata’s involvement lent the project a level of artistic polish rarely seen in promotional tie-in media, creating a visual contrast between the mechanical heavy-hitting robot designs and his refined, nostalgic character style. Upon its limited release, the work was noted by enthusiasts as an interesting curio where a prestige creative talent was paired with a niche commercial application.
