Digimon Adventure tri. Chapter 6: Our Future

Digimon Adventure tri. Chapter 6: Our Future was released in 2018 as the final installment of a six-part film series celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of the Digimon Adventure franchise. Produced by Toei Animation, the project was designed to bridge the narrative gap between the original children from the 1999 television series and their young adult lives, exploring complex themes of growing up, loss, and the necessity of parting ways with childhood companions.

The series was directed by Keitaro Motonaga, featuring character designs by Atsuya Uki. Uki introduced a more stylized, contemporary aesthetic that departed from the original character designs by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, a shift that became a central point of discussion among the franchise's long-term fan base. While the series received mixed critical reception regarding its pacing and narrative delivery, it served as a significant cultural touchstone for viewers who grew up alongside the original DigiDestined.
