Where it came from
Dog Days'': Gravure Talk was released in 2015 as a special supplement associated with the third season of the Dog Days anime series, titled Dog Days''. The publication was designed to cater to fans of the franchise's character designs, focusing specifically on the aesthetic style of the series' gravure-influenced promotional artwork. It serves as a visual record of the character animation and illustration work that defined the light-hearted, fantasy-action tone of the show during its broadcast run.
The content was curated by the production team at Seven Arcs, the studio responsible for the series, to bridge the gap between traditional anime production materials and the popular culture trend of gravure-style character portraits. By compiling these illustrations, the creators intended to highlight the vibrant, colorful art direction overseen by the animation staff. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a niche collector's item for established fans of the Dog Days universe, valued for its high-quality print representation of the show's signature character designs.
