Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn

Released in the spring of 1995 during the height of the Dragon Ball Z franchise's cultural saturation, Fusion Reborn was the fifteenth feature film derived from Akira Toriyama's celebrated manga series. It was produced by Toei Animation as part of their seasonal Toei Anime Fair, a recurring theatrical event designed to capitalize on the popularity of their flagship action titles. The film's narrative centers on a supernatural catastrophe in the Other World caused by an industrial accident, which serves as a backdrop to introduce the concept of character fusion and the fan-favorite warrior Gogeta.

The film was directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi, who brought a vibrant, high-energy visual style that was characteristic of the series' cinematic installments in the mid-90s. While the narrative operates outside of the formal manga canon, it remains a notable entry for its focus on character dynamics and its role in establishing the fusion mechanic that would become essential to the franchise's later storylines. It was well-received by audiences for its spectacle and its contribution to the expanded lore of the Dragon Ball multiverse.
