Where it came from
Fanren Xiu Xian Zhuan: Xinghai Feichi represents a significant chapter in the ongoing adaptation of the popular xianxia web novel A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality. Produced by Original Force, this prologue served as a bridge between story arcs, showcasing the studio's shift toward high-fidelity motion capture and complex 3D character modeling. The production sought to maintain the series' reputation for fluid, gravity-defying combat sequences while elevating the visual depth of its interstellar cultivation setting.
The creative direction for this installment emphasized the integration of traditional Chinese aesthetic elements with futuristic science fantasy. Designers focused on the contrast between the protagonist’s grounded growth and the expansive, ethereal nature of the cosmic sea. Upon release, the project was received well by the fan community, who lauded the studio for its technical consistency and its commitment to honoring the source material's intricate world-building through a modern cinematic lens.
