The Lost Room. A place where you can see what was lost, or maybe what will be lost to you in time. Existing in the innermost part of Chaldea, it is the boundary line between dream and reality where the light of the moon shines through. Produced by the Chaldea Summoning System, the room holds a small number of worthwhile benefits to enjoy.

Where it came from
Fate/Grand Order -MOONLIGHT/LOSTROOM- was released in December 2017 as a special television anime episode produced by Studio Lay-duce. Serving as a narrative bridge between the first major arc of the Fate/Grand Order mobile game and its subsequent 'Cosmos in the Lostbelt' storyline, the production was designed to set a contemplative and melancholic tone for the transition. It functions primarily as a conceptual prologue, prioritizing atmosphere and character introspection over traditional action sequences.
The animation was directed by Hitoshi Nanba and Takurō Tsukada, who worked to translate the game's expansive lore into a concise, dreamlike visual format. By focusing on the 'Lostroom'—a metaphysical space removed from the timeline—the production team sought to explore the isolation and burden of the game’s protagonist. Upon its release, it was received by the franchise's fanbase as an essential, if abstract, piece of world-building that provided vital context for the narrative shifts that followed in the game.
