Where it came from
Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! originated as a manga series by Bow Ditama, serialized beginning in 2007. The narrative centers on Plug Cryostat, an agent from a parallel dimension who travels to Earth to recharge the spirits of depressed humans through physical contact. This OVA, produced by Genco and released in 2014, serves as a late-period addition to the franchise, which had previously been adapted into a television anime series in 2009.
The character designs retain Ditama's signature style, known for its emphasis on expressive, high-energy character archetypes. While the 2009 series focused on a episodic comedy format, this later OVA release was aimed at dedicated fans of the original work, maintaining the franchise's core premise of blending science-fiction tropes with lighthearted, fanservice-oriented humor. The production reflects the studio's commitment to extending the life of established manga properties through secondary video releases.
