Where it came from
Flame of Recca: Final Burning was released by Konami in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, serving as the final entry in a series of titles based on Nobuyuki Anzai’s popular manga and anime franchise. The game was developed during a period when Konami was prolific in adapting shonen properties into handheld fighting and action titles, aiming to capitalize on the series' core concept of elemental ninja battles.
The game is a 2D fighting title that utilizes the GBA's hardware to recreate the series' signature flame-based combat mechanics. It was designed to provide a concluding experience for fans of the franchise, focusing on roster depth and the diverse abilities of the characters. While it received a modest reception typical of licensed portable fighting games of the era, it is remembered by enthusiasts for its pixel art and dedication to the source material's visual identity.
