Hamidashi Creative

Hamidashi Creative, adapted into a television series by Hayabusa Film and released in 2024, is based on the visual novel originally developed by the studio Lump of Sugar. The narrative centers on a protagonist who finds himself in the unexpected position of student council president, navigating the complex social dynamics of a school filled with unconventional and expressive students. The transition from the interactive visual novel format to an animated series was designed to retain the distinctive, vibrant character art style that defined the original source material, emphasizing the character-driven humor and lighthearted situational comedy that garnered a devoted following within the visual novel community.

The production by Hayabusa Film focuses on capturing the playful aesthetic and intricate character interactions that established the franchise's popularity. By streamlining the branching narratives of the visual novel into a linear series format, the studio aimed to highlight the individual personalities of the student council members while maintaining the visual fidelity and artistic nuances that fans of the original game expected. Upon its release, the adaptation was received as a faithful expansion of the source material, serving as a continuation of the franchise's reach beyond its initial platform.
