Hentai Prince & the Stony Cat

Hentai Prince & the Stony Cat, known in Japan as Henneko, is a 2013 anime television series produced by studio J.C.Staff. The series is based on a popular light novel franchise written by Sou Sagara and illustrated by Kantoku, which began publication in 2010. The narrative follows a high school student named Yoto Yokodera who makes a wish to a statue that results in him losing his ability to filter his thoughts, leading to various social complications within his school environment.

The adaptation was directed by Yohei Suzuki and features a distinctive visual style heavily influenced by Kantoku’s original character designs, which are noted for their detailed and expressive aesthetic. Upon its release, the series became recognized for its blend of supernatural comedy and character-driven drama. While the premise relies on eccentric tropes common to the light novel genre of that era, the series is largely remembered for its whimsical art direction and the specific creative collaboration between the production team and the original creative source.
