The story follows Hime Arikawa, a boy who is being chased down by scary people. However, he is rescued from danger by the girls in his school's student council — 18-Kin-san, President Unko, and Beru-senpai. Where it came from
Himegoto was produced by Asahi Production and broadcast in 2014 as a series of short-form anime episodes. Adapted from the manga by Norio Tsukudani, the series fits into the comedic genre, specifically exploring themes of gender expression and social farce through the story of a high school student forced into cross-dressing to pay off debts.
The character designs and animation style were crafted to reflect the lighthearted and often absurd nature of the source material. While the series maintains a niche status within the broader landscape of 2010s anime, it is recognized for its unique focus on the 'trap' trope and its rapid-fire comedic timing, which was intended to cater to fans of gag-based manga adaptations.
