At the edge of the universe beyond the limits for most to reach, a genius began to think...
"If 42 types of magic cannot make a piece of cake that makes one explode with joy from the smell alone and suffer a most unwilling smile..."
"Then, that proves that this is a scientific theory that has yet to be studied fully."

Where it came from
The Herta's Magick Kitchen is an animated short produced by miHoYo Anime to expand the lore and character dynamics of the Honkai: Star Rail universe. Released as part of the studio's broader promotional strategy, the ONA (Original Net Animation) serves to humanize the enigmatic and often cold character of Herta, placing her in a whimsical, culinary-themed setting that contrasts with her usual role as the overseer of the Herta Space Station.
The production maintains the high-fidelity cel-shaded aesthetic characteristic of miHoYo's in-house animation style, prioritizing fluid character expressions and a vibrant color palette to evoke a lighthearted, slice-of-life atmosphere. By blending the game's high-concept science fiction elements with a charming, domestic narrative, the short was received by the player base as a polished piece of character-driven fan service that effectively balances world-building with entertainment.
