An anime about high school girls who have mastered the art of cooking simple, B-class dishes called JK meshi. The three girls — Reina, Ryouka, and Ruriko — are all classmates in their second year of high school. They often get distracted when studying for tests, and when they do, they cook JK meshi. The anime will show how to cook these dishes by showing common ingredients, and simple, easy-to-copy steps so that viewers can also try making the dishes.

Where it came from
JK-Meshi! premiered in 2015 as a short-form anime series produced by the studio Kyotoma. The series was designed to fit into a micro-format, with episodes typically running for a few minutes, centering on three high school girls who spend their time experimenting with cooking, specifically focusing on unique or unconventional ways to prepare convenience store food items.
The character designs were intended to capture a lighthearted, slice-of-life aesthetic typical of the mid-2010s short-form comedy genre. While the production relied on a modest budget, it was received as a niche experiment in blending promotional-style content with comedy, aiming to resonate with viewers who enjoy quick, casual entertainment centered around food culture and adolescent dynamics.
