Jungle Master 2: Candy Planet

Jungle Master 2: Candy Planet, known in its original Chinese production as Laohu de Meng, was released as a sequel to the 2009 animated film Jungle Master. Produced by Shanghai Hippo Animation, the film reflects the studio's efforts to establish a foothold in the competitive Chinese computer-animated market by blending environmental themes with high-concept, colorful digital aesthetics. It was crafted during a period when the Chinese animation industry was aggressively transitioning toward stereoscopic 3D production models.

The film's visual design, characterized by vibrant palettes and stylized character models, was intended to appeal to a younger demographic through a fantastical, candy-themed environment. While it garnered attention for its ambitious use of 3D rendering technology within the independent Chinese studio system, it received mixed critical reception, often noted more for its technical aspirations than for its narrative cohesion. It remains a distinct example of the mid-2010s push toward expanding domestic animation franchises in China.
