Junjou Romantica 3 follows the ongoing story of three couples:
The Romantica relationship between college student Misaki Takahashi and his tutor, Akihiko Usami.
The stormy Egoist couple—Professor Hiroki Kamijou, a tsundere, doted on by Nowaki Kusama.

It’s complicated.
But so worth it.

Where it came from
Junjou Romantica 3 was produced by Studio DEEN and premiered in 2015, marking the third season of the long-running anime adaptation of Shungiku Nakamura's popular boys' love manga series. This installment continued the interconnected romantic narratives of the Misaki and Akihiko story arc, maintaining the franchise's established tone which balances comedic melodrama with emotional development within the context of the Tokyo academic and publishing worlds.
The production remained under the direction of Chiaki Kon, who had helmed the previous seasons and was instrumental in translating Nakamura's distinct character designs and emotive storytelling style to the screen. The third season was highly anticipated by the established fanbase, reflecting the series' longevity and its status as a foundational title in the boys' love genre, ultimately receiving a warm reception from loyal viewers who had followed the evolving relationships of the core couples across a decade of media.
