K: Seven Stories - The Idol K

K: Seven Stories - The Idol K was released in 2018 as part of a theatrical project from the studio GoHands, serving as a lighthearted, comedic spin-off within the K anime franchise. This specific entry shifts away from the series' usual intense supernatural conflicts, instead reimagining the characters as members of an idol group. The project was intended to provide a whimsical look at the cast's versatility, capitalising on the established fanbase of the original television series.

The production maintains the distinct visual aesthetic associated with GoHands, known for its high-contrast color palettes and ambitious, sometimes unconventional, camera work. By recontextualizing the serious protagonists into the world of idol performance, the creators aimed to highlight the character dynamics of the Seven Clans in a playful setting. It was received as a niche, fanservice-oriented curiosity that prioritized character interactions over the plot-heavy stakes of the primary K narrative.
