Where it came from
Kanadian Families: Episode Zero was released in 2015 as an original video animation intended to serve as a prologue for the larger series. It was created to provide narrative context for the central characters, focusing on the domestic dynamics and historical tensions that define their relationships before the main events of the franchise take place.
The animation was produced by the studio responsible for the main series, aiming to match the established aesthetic and tone while offering a more intimate, character-driven experience. It was generally received by enthusiasts as a useful supplementary piece that deepened the lore, though it remains a niche entry primarily of interest to those already invested in the broader series canon.
