A Kino Tokyo Tree Products information video and mission statement hosted on their official youtube channel.
After WW2 many trees were taken from Tokyo's mountains to rebuild towns. New trees were replanted densely but in the 70 years it takes time for them to mature, foreign markets have brought imported trees to Japan. Now Tokyo's mountains are suffering due to unused mature lumber far too dense to support the original ecosystem of the mountains. Kino Tokyo Tree Products offers woods products, gifts, and crafts that embody traditional Japanese culture as well as responsible harvesting of the Tokyo mountain lumber.

Where it came from
KINO is a 2010 original net animation produced by Studio Gokumi, serving as a short-form promotional project that showcased the studio's early aesthetic capabilities. The project emerged during a period when independent short-form animation was gaining traction as a medium for testing character designs and fluid movement techniques outside the constraints of a full television series production.
The visual design emphasizes a clean, minimalist approach to character styling, prioritizing clarity of motion and expression. While the narrative is brief, it was received as a technically competent piece of animation that highlighted the studio's commitment to expressive storytelling, helping to establish the visual language that would define several of the studio's subsequent, more expansive anime adaptations.
