Kouryuu no Mimi: Mina no Shou

Kouryuu no Mimi: Mina no Shou is an original video animation released in 1995, produced by Oriental Light and Magic during the studio's early years. It was based on a manga series written by Shinji Wada and illustrated by Masami Suda. The project emerged during the mid-nineties period when independent, often experimental action-oriented OVAs were a mainstay of the Japanese home video market, aimed at older teenagers and young adults.

The narrative follows a young woman named Mina who discovers she is the reincarnation of a dragon princess, tasked with protecting a mystical artifact. The character design work by Masami Suda is particularly notable for its distinct aesthetic, which balances the hard-edged action sensibilities of the era with the more expressive, dramatic flourishes synonymous with Suda’s body of work in the anime industry. While it represents a specific niche of mid-nineties animation, it remains a recognized artifact of the period's production style.
