“A villainess without blood or tears”
James Moriarty, the most fearsome criminal, met his demise after a confrontation with a famous detective at a certain waterfall. He found himself possessed by a beautiful young lady from another world, and what he saw there was the insidious abuse by other noble daughters. He has no memory, but his brain is still the same. He wields the power of his lucid mind and the perfect crime equation to the fullest for the sake of only one girl in a world without a great detective. The bullied young lady dies and is reborn as Moriarty, a villainess without blood or tears.

Where it came from
Moriarty's Perfect Crime was produced by Imageworks Studio in 2024, marking a modern interpretation of the classic Sherlock Holmes antagonist. The series was developed as a character-driven psychological thriller, aiming to explore the origins and calculated motivations of the professor rather than focusing solely on his conflict with the famed detective. It reflects a trend in contemporary television of shifting the narrative lens toward literary anti-heroes to provide deeper contextual background for their legendary villainy.
The creative direction for the series prioritized a dark, Victorian-industrial aesthetic, utilizing atmospheric lighting and intricate set design to mirror the complexity of Moriarty’s schemes. It was crafted under the studio's broader initiative to revitalize public domain intellectual properties through high-fidelity digital production techniques. Upon its release, the series received attention for its meticulous visual pacing and its departure from traditional procedural structures, finding a niche audience interested in historical noir and character studies.
