Naoe-kun wa Yasesasetai.

Naoe-kun wa Yasesasetai, which translates to 'I Want to Make Naoe-kun Lose Weight,' is a 2024 television anime adaptation based on the light novel series by author Soga Tagiri. The narrative follows a comedic premise centered on the interactions between a young man named Naoe and a girl who takes an interest in his health and lifestyle choices. Produced during a period of high output for romantic comedy and slice-of-life anime, the series seeks to balance character-driven humor with the aesthetic trends common to contemporary Japanese animation.

The character design and visual direction for the series prioritize the expressive, stylized archetypes typical of the genre, aiming to translate Soga Tagiri's original illustrations into a fluid animated format. Upon its release in 2024, the series was received as a lighthearted entry in the seasonal anime cycle, drawing the attention of viewers interested in character-focused comedies. The production reflects the ongoing industry trend of adapting niche digital and print light novels into broadcast television series to capture the interest of domestic and international streaming audiences.
