Nexus

The Nexus brand, specifically the line of smartphones produced by Google in collaboration with various original equipment manufacturers, was introduced in 2010 with the Nexus One. The series was created to serve as a showcase for the 'pure' Android experience, providing developers and enthusiasts with a device free from the heavy manufacturer skins and carrier bloatware that dominated the mobile market at the time. This vision of a standardized, stock Android interface became the hallmark of the brand, positioning the Nexus as the reference device for the ecosystem.

The design philosophy evolved significantly over the years, moving from the industrial, hardware-focused aesthetic of the HTC-manufactured Nexus One to the more refined, software-integrated approach seen in later iterations like the LG-manufactured Nexus 5. These devices were intended to embody Google's vision for mobile computing, prioritizing speed, clean software updates, and developer accessibility. While the line eventually concluded in 2016 to make way for the more consumer-focused Pixel series, it remains highly regarded by collectors for its pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of the modern smartphone.
