Where it came from
Nozoki Kanojo is an original video animation produced by the studio Nur, released in 2019. It serves as an adaptation of the manga series written by Honobono, which explores themes of voyeurism and complex interpersonal dynamics. The production was part of the studio's broader efforts to translate niche manga titles into animated formats, focusing on specific narrative arcs from the source material.
The character designs and animation direction were tailored to reflect the aesthetic established in the original manga, emphasizing an intimate and atmospheric visual style. Because it occupies a specialized segment of the animation market, the work was received primarily within the community of manga enthusiasts and fans of the source material who were interested in seeing the characters brought to life through animation.
