Having just moved into a new apartment building, Yui Hanasaka makes a customary visit to greet her neighbor. When she learns that he is an upperclassman at the university she aspires to attend, she asks for his help to pass her entrance exams. Meanwhile, Natsuki Momohara decides to visit her older brother, who lives alone in an apartment in Tokyo. Elsewhere, aspiring singer Moka Aoshima reunites with her childhood friend, who is a hopeful novelist.
Three stories, although seemingly unrelated, contain the same essence: strings of fate will bind together those who share the same destiny, and one needs to look no further than a single apartment room.

Where it came from
OneRoom was produced by Typhoon Graphics and aired in 2017 as a short-form anime series. The project was designed to immerse the viewer in a first-person perspective, utilizing a unique narrative structure where the audience acts as the primary character, interacting with various heroines in their own living spaces. This format aimed to cultivate a sense of intimacy and direct engagement, diverging from traditional ensemble-cast storytelling.
The character designs were handled by Kantoku, a popular illustrator known for his distinct, soft aesthetic and vibrant color palettes. His involvement was central to the series' appeal, as his visual style was tailored to fit the 'one-on-one' atmosphere intended by the production team. Upon release, the series was received as a niche experimentation within the slice-of-life genre, noted primarily for its innovative use of POV perspective to deepen the connection between the viewer and the on-screen characters.
