In my deep dream there comes the landscape in my shapeless eyes. The peaceful sight gradually distorts. When anxiety and upsurge stands behind us, the nightly liberation begins.

Where it came from
Out of My Mind is a notable short-form animation produced by the Geidai Animation program at the Tokyo University of the Arts. This institution has gained a reputation for fostering experimental, auteur-driven works that often diverge from the commercial aesthetic of mainstream Japanese animation, encouraging students to explore deeply personal and unconventional narrative structures.
The film emerged from a pedagogical environment designed to challenge traditional animation techniques. It reflects the broader mission of Geidai's animation department, which emphasizes individual artistic vision and technical mastery. As a student work within an academic program, its design is typically characterized by a focus on minimalism and symbolic imagery, receiving recognition primarily within international festival circuits and specialized animation academic circles.
