These shorts were designed to expand the franchise's world-building by providing a lighter, chibi-style look at the daily lives and interactions of the Pleiades combat maids. The production serves as a meta-textual companion that highlights the contrast between the intense, dark tone of the main series and the playful personalities of its supporting cast.

The character designs were overseen by Minoru Ashina, who established the 'Puyukai' aesthetic characterized by minimalist, expressive chibi art that allows for rapid-fire comedic timing.
