Legends speak of a Dark Tower with a race of dragons that awaits the command to arise and wreak havoc. At least Kyle used to believe they were only legends until his lady, Alita, is stolen by the Black Dragon!
Now Kyle must form an alliance with Blau, a blue dragon, in order to rescue her before she becomes the catalyst for the Dark Tower's final program: the complete destruction of the world!

Where it came from
The Panzer Dragoon OVA, released in 1996, was produced by the acclaimed studio Production I.G as a direct accompaniment to the Sega Saturn game series. It was designed to expand upon the high-fantasy, post-apocalyptic world established by Sega, translating the game’s unique aesthetic of bio-mechanical creatures and vast, ruined landscapes into an animated format. The project sought to capture the atmosphere and visual identity of the games, emphasizing the bond between the protagonist and their dragon mount.
While the animation was lauded for its ambition and the successful recreation of the series' distinct art style, the OVA was met with a mixed reception due to its truncated runtime and minimal dialogue. Critics noted that it functioned primarily as a visual companion rather than a standalone narrative, reflecting the challenge of adapting a non-linear, environmental storytelling experience into a traditional film medium. Despite these critiques, it remains a significant piece of Sega memorabilia that reflects the era's trend of expanding popular game franchises into secondary media.
