Where it came from
Persona 5 the Animation: Proof of Justice is a specialized original video animation released in 2019, serving as a direct follow-up to the television series adaptation of the hit role-playing game Persona 5. Produced by the animation studio CloverWorks, the OVA was included as a bonus feature within the final Blu-ray volume of the series. Its creation was intended to provide a concluding narrative epilogue for fans, focusing on the character Goro Akechi and offering a definitive resolution to the events depicted in the series.
The creative direction for this installment maintained the established aesthetic and character designs from the main series, which were adapted from Shigenori Soejima's original game artwork. CloverWorks aimed to align the visual storytelling with the distinct, stylish flair of the source material. Upon its release, the project was received as a niche completionist piece, primarily appreciated by dedicated followers of the franchise who sought deeper closure regarding the complex relationship between the protagonist and Akechi.
