Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom was produced by studio Bee Train in 2009 as a television series adaptation of the visual novel Phantom of Inferno. The project emerged during a period when the studio was refining its signature atmospheric style, which often emphasizes character-driven tension and deliberate, slow-burn pacing. The series follows the journey of a young man kidnapped and transformed into a brainwashed assassin known as Ein, serving as a dark exploration of identity and morality within a clandestine organization.

The series design was heavily influenced by the work of original creator Gen Urobuchi, whose narrative focus on tragedy and moral ambiguity provides the show's psychological foundation.
