Kotarou was pretty much supposed to be your average boy, worried about the pressures of education while enjoying a simple life with his friends. Much to his despair, he one day finds the overly cheerful Misha at his door, asking to be friends out of nowhere. Even more shocking is that Misha is an apprentice angel, yet she does more bad then good. Along with Kotarou's school friends Takashi and Koboshi and the so called devil Shia (once again being able to do more good then bad), the group of friends spend their days getting into all sorts of adventures and troubles. Based on the manga by Koge-Donbo.

Where it came from
Pita-Ten was produced by the acclaimed studio Madhouse and aired in 2002, serving as an anime adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Koge-Donbo. The series centers on the life of a young boy who encounters a clumsy angel named Misha, blending elements of magical girl tropes with domestic comedy. It emerged during a period when lighthearted, character-driven supernatural stories were gaining significant traction within the Japanese television market.
The character designs were crafted to emphasize a soft, whimsical aesthetic that mirrored the signature style of Koge-Donbo. By leveraging the animation expertise of Madhouse, the production aimed to balance high-energy comedic timing with more poignant, emotional beats regarding life and loss. The series is often remembered for its tonal shift toward the latter half, which distinguished it from more formulaic shows of the same genre and garnered it a dedicated, if niche, following among fans of dramatic fantasy.
