Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: The World Guardians

Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: The World Guardians, released in 2022, serves as the seventh theatrical feature in the long-running Chinese animated franchise. Produced by Creative Power Entertaining, the film was developed to modernize the visual aesthetic of the characters, transitioning from the original 2D flash-animation style to a more fluid 3D-CG format. This shift was intended to provide a more immersive cinematic experience for a new generation of audiences while maintaining the core themes of friendship and heroism that have defined the series since its television debut in 2005.

The narrative follows the familiar protagonists, Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, as they embark on an adventure within a fantastical world threatened by a mysterious dark force. The film was directed by Huang Junming, who sought to blend action-oriented sequences with the brand's traditional slapstick humor and moral storytelling. Upon its release, the film was received as a successful revitalization of the franchise, noted by critics for its technical improvement in animation quality and its ability to balance nostalgic appeal with updated storytelling techniques suited for the contemporary family film market.
