Ponkotsu Quest: Maou to Haken no Mamono-tachi Season 2

Ponkotsu Quest: Maou to Haken no Mamono-tachi debuted in 2013 as a web-based original net animation produced by VAP. The series was created and directed by Akira Matsumoto, who also provided the voice for the lead characters. The show utilizes a minimalist, low-budget aesthetic involving two low-ranking minions of a demon lord, focusing primarily on improvised-style comedic banter that highlights the mundanity of their villainous roles.

Season 2, released in 2014, continued the show's departure from traditional high-fantasy storytelling in favor of office-style workplace humor. The series was designed as a recurring short-form production, utilizing simple Flash animation to allow for rapid, dialogue-driven episodes. It was well-received within the Japanese internet culture of the mid-2010s for its relatability and deadpan wit, eventually spawning a long-running franchise that spans multiple seasons and live events.
