Princess Principal: Crown Handler - Chapter 1: BUSY EASY MONEY

Princess Principal: Crown Handler - Chapter 1: BUSY EASY MONEY was produced by Studio Actas as the first entry in a six-part sequel film series following the original 2017 television anime. The project was conceived to continue the espionage narrative set in an alternate-history 20th-century London, where the city is divided by a massive wall. The transition from a television format to a series of theatrical OVAs allowed for a shift in production pacing, aiming to maintain the high-stakes political intrigue and steampunk aesthetic that defined the initial series.

The character designs were handled by Yukie Akiya, building upon the original concept by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The visual direction sought to balance the dark, clandestine atmosphere of the spy-thriller genre with the distinct, fluid animation style established in the first season. Upon its release in 2021, the film was received as a faithful continuation of the series, noted by audiences for its complex plotting and the deepening of the core relationships between the young spies who operate under the guise of Queen's Mayfair school students.
