Qin Shi Mingyue: Yi Zhe Rushi

Qin Shi Mingyue: Yi Zhe Rushi is a spin-off ONA series derived from the long-running and highly influential Chinese 3D animated franchise, Qin Shi Mingyue (The Legend of Qin). Produced by Sparkly Key Animation, the series was developed to expand upon the rich historical tapestry of the Qin Dynasty, focusing on character-driven narratives that complement the grander scope of the primary saga. It reflects the studio's ongoing commitment to pushing the technical boundaries of domestic Chinese 3D animation, utilizing stylized motion capture and intricate digital environments to bridge historical fiction with wuxia fantasy elements.

The creative direction for this installment was steered by the core Sparkly Key Animation team, who sought to maintain the visual consistency and thematic depth established in the parent series. By narrowing the focus to more intimate character arcs, the creators aimed to explore the philosophical underpinnings of the period—specifically the tension between individual destiny and imperial ambition. The series was met with appreciation from the franchise's dedicated fanbase, who valued the studio's efforts to deepen the lore and maintain the high production standards that have come to define the Qin Shi Mingyue brand in the Chinese animation industry.
