Where it came from
The Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers picture drama was produced by Studio Passione as part of the home video releases for the 2015 anime adaptation of the light novel series by Ishio Yamagata. These shorts were designed as supplemental material to deepen the world-building, focusing on character interactions that were not strictly essential to the primary narrative arc but provided viewers with additional insight into the protagonists' personalities.
The production utilized the same creative team as the television series, maintaining the distinct visual aesthetic of the franchise. Because the material was intended for dedicated fans who purchased the Blu-ray and DVD volumes, the shorts lean into the series' thematic blend of mystery and fantasy. They were generally received by the niche enthusiast community as a charming, low-stakes extension of the main show's suspenseful atmosphere.
