ROOM CAMP

Room Camp, or Heya Camp, originated as a series of short-form spin-offs derived from the popular Laid-Back Camp franchise, which began as a manga by Afro. Produced by studio C-Station and released in 2020, the series was designed to maintain the cozy, low-stakes atmosphere of the primary show while focusing on the lighter, comedic interactions of the Outdoor Activities Circle members. By condensing the runtime, the creators emphasized a rapid-fire storytelling style that highlights the eccentric personalities of the main characters, Nadeshiko, Rin, and Chiaki, during their short-lived excursions.

The production team at C-Station sought to translate the manga's charming aesthetic into a series of vignettes that could stand on their own as brief, humorous interludes. The design direction remained faithful to the series' signature color palette and gentle pacing, ensuring visual continuity with the main anime adaptations. Upon its release, the series was well-received by fans for effectively capturing the essence of the franchise’s appeal, offering a warm and nostalgic experience that prioritizes character-driven humor over complex plot progression.
