Shi Shi Chuanshuo

Shi Shi Chuanshuo, also known as The Legend of Shi Shi, was produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures as a testament to the growing ambition of Chinese original net animation. Released within a competitive landscape of streaming-exclusive content, the series was crafted to leverage advanced 3D character modeling and dynamic action choreography to capture the attention of a domestic audience increasingly interested in high-fantasy narratives rooted in traditional aesthetics.

The visual design of the series reflects the studio’s push toward a distinctive, polished style that balances fluidity with traditional artistic motifs. By blending cinematic lighting techniques with complex digital rendering, the creative team aimed to establish a signature look for Penguin Pictures' early animation portfolio. Upon its release, the series was noted primarily for its technical production standards, serving as a foundational project for the studio's subsequent ventures into larger-scale animated storytelling.
