Shimajirou: Shimajirou to Yuuki no Uta

Shimajirou to Yuuki no Uta is a 2025 entry in the long-running Shimajirou franchise, which originated as an educational multimedia property managed by the Japanese publishing firm Benesse Corporation. Since the early 1990s, the central character, a tiger named Shimajirou, has served as a core component of the Kodomo Challenge correspondence courses designed to assist in the early childhood development of toddlers and preschoolers across Japan.

The film follows the tradition of balancing narrative storytelling with interactive segments intended to foster empathy and courage in young viewers. Produced internally by Benesse, the production maintains the franchise's consistent visual identity, which emphasizes clean, approachable character designs and themes of social-emotional learning that have made the series a staple of early childhood education in Japan for several decades.
